ACAD concludes a training course in Gaza

Within the activities of the project “Rehabilitation of Agricultural Productive Assets of Farmers Affected by the attack on Gaza in 2014 implemented in partnership with the French Foundation ACTED, ACAD concluded a training course on Thursday 6 October 2016 titled “Fertilizers and Irrigation” in which members of the agricultural committees from Gaza Strip governorates: Abasan Al-Kabira, Khuzaa, Al-Fukhari and Al-Shukeh, participated.

The training which was implemented over four consecutive days in Gaza city focused on raising the awareness of participants on types of fertilizers and the irrigation systems as well as combating of agricultural pests and how to deal with the remnants of the attack. The training also clarified the role of the agricultural committees and their contribution to the success of the project as they are the link between ACAD and the project beneficiaries “the farmers”. This is in addition to explaining and clarifying mechanisms of complaints and accountability.

It is worth mentioning that the project activities aim at supporting farmers through the construction of agricultural roads, establishment of water harvesting pools, land reclamation and installation of water carrier pipelines in the areas targeted by the project.
